History

Simmons Media has operated radio stations in Salt Lake City since 1977.  Historically, Simmons Media was best known for operating KSFI "FM 100," KQMB "Star 102.7," and KRSP "Arrow 103.5," all stations that generally ranked among the top ten in the market.  In 2002 Simmons Media announced it's sale of KSFI, KQMB, and KRSP to Bonneville.  The sale was delayed until 2003, over a national dispute over ownership rules with the FCC.
Today Simmons Media is rebuilding it's business with new stations, replacing the ones it sold.  It has brought online country "The Eagle" (KEGA) in 2003, variety KPEB (later "Jack" KJQN) in 2005, rhythmic "Movin 100.7" (KYMV) and Christian "The Oasis" (KOAY) in 2006.  It also is well know for operating Utah's number one alternative rock station, "X96" (KXRK), which has been part of the Simmons family of stations for well over a decade.
