Station History

    In 2002, a company called Palmetto Radio Group won the bid for the FCC construction permit for a new station at AM 820.  Later that year, Simmons Media purchased the permit from Palmetto.  Simmons then announced the sale of several of it's radio stations to Bonneville in the fall of that year, including AM 820.
   Bonneville programmed a talk radio format for women for the station's first year.  However, the station never became profitable and the talk radio for women format has been discontinued.  Currently, the station is running an all-LDS format, similar to the original KUTR of yester-year.  It seems possible that this is only a placeholder format until Bonneville can decide what it would like to do with the station.
