Station History

KDYL's call-letters are a throw back to a station that used to be owned by SImmons Media on 1280 AM.  In fact, two of the disc jockies, Mark VanWagoner and Danny Kramer worked at the original KDYL back in the 90's.  In the late-90's, Simmons Media flipped the original KDYL to talk, and then to sports as KZNS.

AM 1060's past is filled with kids formats.  The original, "Imagination Station" was a well-programmed kids format, with plenty of listener calls, and contents with prizes usually being "able to pick a song."  The music variety was filled with Dr. Demento, Joe Scruggs, TV Themes, and more.  The station then flipped to a nationally syndicated kids format called "Radio Aahs," but only lasted about a year.  The station wasn't able to sell the format, despite great local interaction.  Today, AM 1060 is an adult standards format.
